Privacy and security

Understand local capture, storage permissions and network boundaries.

Updated 2 min read

Before an important recording, test picture, sound and the saved file. Keep the page open until saving finishes.

The recorder has no media-upload endpoint and does not request an account. Media stays in browser capture/encoding and the folder you explicitly choose. Hosting still receives ordinary page and asset requests; local recording does not make browsing anonymous.

Microphone recording on mobile: Audio is temporarily saved in this browser. Export each completed segment using Download or Share → Save to Files. Clearing site data or private browsing can remove recordings.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views, visits and page-load performance. Its script sends browsing and performance metrics to Cloudflare. We do not send screen images, recorded audio or video, local file contents or recording metadata to this analytics service. Recording and media saving remain local.

How to use it

  1. Grant only the screen or window you intend to record. Close private notifications and obtain any required consent from other participants.
  2. Choose a trusted folder. Be aware that your own OS backup or folder-sync software can upload files independently of this app.
  3. Desktop recording: After recording, stop sharing and control the file permissions yourself. Clearing site data removes local preferences and metadata but does not delete saved media.

Limits and safety

The app cannot prevent malware, browser extensions, other local users or an insecure storage device from reading your files. Do not place confidential material in public folders. Hosting access-log retention and jurisdiction require operator confirmation before a public launch.

A practical test

Before sharing a screen, close notifications and unrelated windows and check whether the chosen folder is synchronized by another application. Local processing does not stop your operating system or sync provider from copying a saved file. Only record material and participants you are entitled to capture. After the session, stop sharing and review the file's destination before sending it to anyone else.
