Capture & audio

Screen recording

Capture a tab, window or screen through the browser permission dialog.

Updated 2 min read

Before an important recording, test picture, sound and the saved file. Keep the page open until saving finishes.

Screen only records a video track without microphone or shared audio. OKYA Record cannot choose a screen on your behalf or bypass the browser’s source picker. Preview is muted to prevent feedback.

How to use it

  1. Select Screen only and choose a save folder.
  2. Set a practical resolution and frame rate, then Start recording. Choose the intended screen, window or tab.
  3. Check the live preview, then stop and inspect a saved segment. Keep notifications and unrelated sensitive windows out of the captured region.

Limits and safety

Resolution is a requested constraint, not a guarantee: the source and browser may use another size. Protected video may appear black. Switching tabs does not necessarily stop capture, but minimizing a source or locking the OS can affect output.

A practical test

Choose a window when you want to avoid exposing unrelated desktop activity, or a tab when a single page is enough. Notifications, protected video and operating-system overlays may behave differently. Test moving content and small text at the intended display size. The recorder uses the granted source; it cannot reveal a hidden or protected surface that the browser does not supply.
